The Great House Flip

Well, it's been a long 3+ years. Lots of work has gone into this house--before moving in (my cleanliness standards greatly exceeded those of the previous owners), after moving in (my taste greatly differed from those of the previous owners), and finally in preparing to sell (because, well, that's just the way it is). But it is done!

It's amazing to see the transformation. This is no longer the hideous house that I first went to look at--my friends and family scoffed (and held their noses due to the stench the previous owners didn't seem to mind)--but here is my house reborn and ready to sell.

My original post with house pictures from October 20, 2007.

Some day (hopefully) soon, I'll be able to post similar pictures of the house Keith called home vs the home we made together vs our flipped house (a work still in progress)! Anyhoo, enjoy! :)

Master Bath

Before: The crazy, glossy blue stripes and pink flowers on the bathroom
wallpaper certainly clashed with the big, glossy flowers on the bedroom
wallpaper. Looking from one room to the next was cause for headaches galore.

Now: No major changes since I did them upon moving in, but still a clean slate
for the new homeowner and way better in my book!

Mine: Still pink, not my favorite, but at least it was somewhat more soothing.
The purpose of soaking in your master bath is to reduce the strains of the day,
not create more with eye-boggling wallpaper chaos!

Art & Twilla's AKA My Dream Home

Since Keith and I both have houses and his is a family heirloom, we decided to place mine on the market. Difficult. I love my house and it offers security--I always need that safety net. No matter how much I like, my HEAD rules over my HEART. Always has, always will.

So compromise would be a camp. And low and behold, my dream home of childhood has become available + the lovely added bonus of being surrounded by my family (Matt, Jennifer, James, and Asa) (My Grandmother) (Hopefully, eventually, Luke and Jaime).

So we hold our breath, hope my home will sell, and this one will become my new, even more fantastic safety net. After all, what is life but if not dreams waiting to come true, especially for a realist such as myself? A realistic dreamer, that about sums me up...

My swordfish is still there. It already has Keith's chicken coop. The pond and land we both crave. Plus my happy childhood memories. Could anything be more perfect? Wish me well! :)
